Critical Success Factors in Collaboration
This is a great article, posted over a year ago with very little press coverage since:
With so many businesses a long way off sharing data for competitive advantage when will the consumer feel the benefit of the improved supply chain? How much of this will help the new topic of reducing carbon footprints? Why is it only the big players that boast about this? Where are the stories of the SMEs doing it?
Many smaller businesses can have a more effiecient supply chain if they adopted some of these principles. Sharing data, working in partnership. collaboration are key elements of having an agile and effiecient supply chain. There is no need to adopt everything the major players are doing because these are sometimes expensive solutions. Simple low cost steps can be taken and benefits can be realised quickly. Have regular two way feedback and performance reviews with suppliers and your customers. You can use supplier open days to present what your business objectives are not only to your customers and suppliers but also your supplier’s suppliers.
Do you have any thoughts on Supply Chain Collaboration? Do you think it is a waste of time? Is it just another fad?
